There’s something joyful about buying your loved ones gifts at this time of year. But it can take up a lot of your time and prove to be very stressful. However your feel about Christmas shopping it’s a task that needs to be taken care of. To help you through the hectic season, here we have some tips to help you shop stress free this Christmas.
Make a Plan
A simple tip that will prove very beneficial when it comes to shopping for your gifts. Think carefully about the type of gifts you’ll be buying for your loved ones. Where can you purchase them from? Make a list of the gifts you need, who they are for and where you can get them. Some online research can go a long way to helping you not waste time going back and forth between shops. Pick a time where you won’t be rushing around all the shops that you can shop with ease. Usually a couple of days shopping will give you plenty of time to be organised.
Make a List
Don’t only focus on the list of gifts you need but make a list of EVERYTHING you need over the Christmas period. Here is a handy list to start you off:
- Christmas cards
- Wrapping Paper and Tags
- Cello tape
- Party essentials – crackers, food, drink, decorations
This list can continue so take some time to brainstorm everything you may need over the festive period. By listing these things earlier on it is more likely you’ll be organised in time for Christmas.
Set a Budget
We can very easily and quickly over spend during the holidays on Christmas shopping. Try and set a budget for each person you are buying for and ask them to do the same (to avoid the spending guilt!). Firstly it’s best to look at your overall budget for the Christmas period and allocate a certain amount to each thing in categories, like this.
- Christmas Food/Dinner
- Decorations/Wrapping Paper etc.
Avoid all the queue stress and try doing most of your shopping online. From presents to food almost all of our shopping list can now be purchased online from the comfort of your own home. It is important to keep in mind that a lot of Christmas slots will fill up quickly so try and be organised and book them quickly. Also keep in mind the delivery times for purchasing gifts may be slightly longer due to the higher demand.
